A Premier All Female Soccer School in Upstate New York

November 26, 2009 -Kelsey Fish of the Adirondack Lynx-Black Watch U18 team was recently selected as Player of the Year by the Post Star newspaper. Fish scored 6 goals and had 10 assists in leading her South Glens Falls high school team to a Foothills Council Championship and the NYS Section II Finals.

News 2009 Lynx Players Receive Honors The Adirondack Lynx Elite Female Soccer Academy is proud to announce that many of its Elite Academy players from 2009 have recieved post-season honors. 23 Players from around the capital region were named to their respective leagues all-star team. 10 or those players were named All NY State. more >>> Kelsey Fish selected as Player of the Year The Post Star Newspaper selected Kelsey Fish as their Girl's Soccer Player of the Year. Fish led South Glens Falls to the 2009 girls soccer Foothills Council championship. Her team also made it to the NYS Section II Class A Finals before losing 1-0 to state semi-finalist Burnt Hills. more >>> U13 Lynx Win 2009 YPSL Championship The Adirondack Lynx U13 team comprised of players from throughout the Capital Region won the 2009 Youth Premier Soccer League championship. Cali Palumbo (East Greenbush S.C.)and Cassidy Driscoll (Saratoga S.C.)scored as the Lynx defeated the hosting Long Island Fury 2-1. more >>> Adirondack Lynx play a Series of College Friendlies Sunday, April 19th at Skidmore College, three women’s soccer teams met for a series of 30 minute scrimmages. The 10 weeks of training is meant to compliment a players club team schedule. Welcome

It is with tremendous excitement that I share with you a unique soccer program for girls. The Adirondack Lynx Elite Girls Soccer Academy is the next logical step in developing female players in upstate New York.  The Adirondack Lynx amateur women’s soccer team plays in the Women’s Premier Soccer League.  The League is currently one of the top 5 women’s leagues in the WORLD!  The WPSL team was formed in 2006 to fill a void for all those girls that were beyond the U19 level and wanted to play competitively during the summer months.  The Elite Girls Academy was then created with 2 purposes. 1) To begin to identify players at an early age that have the potential to one day play for the WPSL team and 2) to create another niche...with so many premier teams in the capital region each must focus a majority of training time on team tactics and winning to attract the better players. The Lynx Academy looks to bring in only the best players, regardless of ones club affiliation, that want to focus on individual training.

It is ironic that the exact model that has been brewing within the Lynx Organization for over 2 years was recently released as the “new” direction of  US Soccer on the boys side.  They are initiating a national developmental academy for U16 and U18 boys that are involved with 80 of the top clubs across the US.  Currently the Lynx Academy has a U18, U16, and a U12/U14 group that has begun training.  The Academy has had inquiries from as far west as Rochester, South to Newburgh, North to Plattsburgh, and East into Vermont. 

My vision is to elevate the level of girl's and women's soccer in our region by providing them with the chance to watch & play at the highest level right here, right now. The Academy’s intent is NOT to compete with the current club structure that is already in place within the Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL) of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Asociation (ENYYSA), but rather to provide a place for advanced club players to grow quicker and get specific accelerated training and skill sets that they will then take back to their club teams and raise the level of play of their developing club peers.
