The 10 weeks of training is meant to compliment a players club team schedule. The Academy hope to get its players physically and mentally ready for the school soccer sesaon. more >>> Adirondack Lynx to Add a U16 Team to their All-Female Elite Soccer Academy The U16 Elite Summer Program will run 8-weeks (10 training sessions) and will be held at Gavin Park in Saratoga. The Academy will train on Mondays from 5-6:30pm starting May 21 and ending July 9. Welcome

It is with tremendous excitement that I share with you a unique soccer program for girls. The Adirondack Lynx Elite Girls Soccer Academy is the next logical step in developing female players in upstate New York.  The Adirondack Lynx amateur women’s soccer team plays in the Women’s Premier Soccer League.  The League is currently one of the top 5 women’s leagues in the WORLD!  The WPSL team was formed in 2006 to fill a void for all those girls that were beyond the U19 level and wanted to play competitively during the summer months.  The Elite Girls Academy was then created with 2 purposes. 1) To begin to identify players at an early age that have the potential to one day play for the WPSL team and 2) to create another niche...with so many premier teams in the capital region each must focus a majority of training time on team tactics and winning to attract the better players. The Lynx Academy looks to bring in only the best players, regardless of ones club affiliation, that want to focus on individual training.

It is ironic that the exact model that has been brewing within the Lynx Organization for over 2 years was recently released as the “new” direction of  US Soccer on the boys side.  They are initiating a national developmental academy for U16 and U18 boys that are involved with 80 of the top clubs across the US.  Currently the Lynx Academy has a U18, U16, and a U12/U14 group that has begun training.  The Academy has had inquiries from as far west as Rochester, South to Newburgh, North to Plattsburgh, and East into Vermont. 

My vision is to elevate the level of girl's and women's soccer in our region by providing them with the chance to watch & play at the highest level right here, right now. The Academy’s intent is NOT to compete with the current club structure that is already in place within the Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL) of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Asociation (ENYYSA), but rather to provide a place for advanced club players to grow quicker and get specific accelerated training and skill sets that they will then take back to their club teams and raise the level of play of their developing club peers.
